ENTRY LEVEL OPPORTUNITY: Plant manager Germany

ArcelorMittal Construction are seeking an open-minded and results-driven individual to apply for the role of Plant manager as part of our Horizon Programme: an 18-month development scheme for the next generation of industry shapers.

As part of our mission to find, nurture and train future industry leaders, ArcelorMittal Construction is opening a development programme for ambitious individuals early on in their career, with a mandatory minimum period of 2 years of employment. Successful applicants will spend six months each on a total of three projects within different areas of the business, ensuring a full education in project management, leadership training and change management.

Upon completion of the programme, the successful candidate will have developed the skills required to oversee projects from validation to handover and be proficient at planning and executing operational tasks of all kinds in a full time assignment.

One of the opportunities available through is a role of Plant Manager for one of our entity in Germany.

Main goal : Responsible for all industrial activities at the site, manage the objectives of Health & Safety, Quality, SupplyChain, Production efficiency as well as Production costs of the site, and Responsible for Capex management and maintenance of the equipment at the plant.

Responsibilities and activities:

  • Coordinate all industrial tasks to achieve the objectives per budget.
  • Collaborate in the development of a new products, during the design phase (product design, regulations, tests, prototypes, final approval, etc.) according to the internal criteria and following customer specifications.
  • Supervise the work of your team, provide the necessary instructions for correction of possible deviations.
  • Define, follow and analyze the KPI’s : scrap, 2nd choice products, productivity, process capacity and product portfolio…acting in order to achieve a continuous improvement of result
  • design and implement process alerts that allow us to know deviations in production and set appropriate corrective measures.
  • Comply and oversee the compliance of the established prevention goals and when necessary, create and put in place new goals according to the safety instructions given. Integrate aspects of Health and Safety, Quality and Environment in all the meetings and communication with the employees
  • Suggest appropriate measures in your job position to improve environmental procedures. Comply with all the established environmental procedures.
  • Ensure that final products comply with the correct standards and required levels of quality. To ensure that all the established quality controls are carried out. Comply with all the established quality procedures
  • Communicate problems related to quality arising from the production process, from customers complaints or problems with suppliers

Applicants should be available for frequent travel and speak fluent English.
